3 Month Challenge

The recent passing of my dad has led to a lot of self reflection.  Loosing someone so close to you makes you rethink things. Do they know how much you care? Are you treating them the way you would want to if it was your last day with them? I've been evaluating the relationships I have with others as well as with myself. That's right, with myself.

Since part of the reason that we lost dad so young was due to his health. It makes me think about my health. What steps am I taking to make sure that I live the healthiest, happiest life I can? I'm not talking the yo-yo dieting I've done in the past. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about : P I'm talking about the kind of change that is lifelong.

My husband and I have been making little changes all year, adding in exercise and starting to think about what we were putting into our mouths. But now I am ready for something bigger. After some discussion I've accepted a 3 month challenge to jump start my change. Note that I know that this doesn't mean that I'll go back to my old ways when it's over! It was just a fun way for me to get started. We made some goals and I got excited!

Eating clean won't always be easy. But after just a few days, I'm already feeling better than I have in a long time. My mind feels clearer and I have more energy. I am psyched to see what a couple weeks or even a month will do!
